![]() ![]() "Why am I doing all this work in a video game?" And when you start looking at it that way, you start running and parkouring past the undead daywalkers like they are not even a threat, just a mild inconvenience in your path. It is mostly still an enjoyable time but when you stop to think about it, it is almost like a second job. Much to the tune of Far Cry or Fallout games, you are constantly traversing across a dangerous map to do stuff for other people like some eager servant boy. The actual game itself: Fetch and errand quests galore. The value is there, especially considering it falls short of the typical full price for a game like this being ported to Switch. Lots of content with this Platinum package DLC, expansion, multiplayer, bonus challenge modes. Performance is honestly the least of my concerns with this game. It is aiming for 30fps and it achieves at least that in most if not all situations, even when surrounded by undead. Framerate & stability are surprisingly fluid as some of the pro reviews state. There is some pop-in that can be kind of immersion breaking and some funky textures sometimes but nothing so criminal that it ruins the experience by any means. I like it much more docked and it looks so decent I forget I am playing a Switch port. Some people might say it looks better handheld but I don't think it is very easy to see certain things. The job they did on the Switch port: Decent graphics, impressive for a big game like this. EDIT: Check below for an update after 40 hours of gameplay which increased the score I gave it. The job they did on the Switch port:ĭecent graphics, impressive for a big game I have never played Dying Light on any other platform and I am about 15 hours into the game and I have positive things to say about the quality of the Switch port and mixed things to say about the game itself. Even if you have played the game on other consoles before, the game is super fun to play on the go in handheld and there is a ton of extra content to give you a reason to pick it up again … Expand If you are a fan of the open world survival genre then this is a game you will want to pick up. The frame rate is surprisingly smooth and the graphics look surprisingly good both in handheld and tv modes. None of the bugs are game breaking and instead are just sometimes silly like a zombie randomly ragdolling into the air which honestly can be really entertaining to see. ![]() The game is still just as fun as it was when it originally launched and, except for a few bugs here and there, it runs super smooth both in handheld and on the tv. The frame rate Dying Light on the switch is simply amazing. Dying Light on the switch is simply amazing.
